Provo Turtle Divers is a PADI 5 Star Resort offering instruction courses for all levels from the very beginner that has never done it, all the way to assistant instructor.  We also work closely with other agencies such as NAUI, SSI and TDI to allow referral students from those agencies, to complete their open water training dives under the Universal Referral Program.

All training requires a PADI Medical Statement to determine if you are fit for diving.  Please read the medical thoroughly to see if you require a physicians written approval to participate in scuba training, before you arrive.

PADI Open Water Referral Dives –  currently unavailable

Our PADI Open Water Referral program is perfect for students that started their scuba certification with a dive shop back home and then want to complete their open water dives in the warm tropical waters. Students who have successfully completed the Classroom (or E-Learning) and Confined Water training can finish your PADI Open Water certification with us.  You’ll be paired up with one of our instructors to go over what you’ve learned so far. Then you head off to dives 1 and 2 the first day and dives 3 and 4 the second day.  All the dives are from one of our boats which makes for easy entry into and exit out of the water. This uses a lot less of your vacation time and is a great way to finish the course. Once you are certified you can spend the rest of your holiday enjoying our great dive sites.  For children 10-11 yrs old, single student, or private course, add on $250 per 1 day course, and $500 for a 2 day course.

Advanced Open Water Course –  currently unavailable

Exploration, Excitement, Experiences!
That’s what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. You don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification. The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out different specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving. This is the perfect course to take while on vacation as there is no classroom!  Sign up for the most popular option, the PADI E-Learning (for an additional $178) to complete all the “classroom” at home and not while on vacation!  Or get the book and dvd from us for self study once here, which takes approximately 8 hours.

There are 2 core dives, the Deep Dive and the Underwater Navigation are required – we usually do that on day 2 or 3.  We start you out with your 3 electives dives.  We offer the following elective dives to choose from:  Fish ID, Underwater Naturalist, Enriched Air (requires additional study), Photography ($35 digital camera rental is extra if you don’t have your own), or Boat Diver. Many people ask about wreck and night dives.  We do not have any wrecks that we can dive, and we can arrange for a shore night dive if the weather is suitable while you are here.  The course consists of 5 required dives taught over 3 days, for a total of 6 dives.

Enriched Air Courses

PADI Enriched Air Specialty –  currently unavailable

The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty scuba course. Why? Because scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives. If staying down longer and getting back in the water sooner sounds appealing, then don’t hesitate to become an enriched air diver.

You’ll learn why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content gives you more bottom time, along with enriched air equipment considerations. During the self study (we provide the materials and dvd, and you have a short exam to take) you will learn about managing oxygen exposure, how to analyze oxygen content in your scuba tank (2 tanks are included in the course, but the dives are not) and how to set your dive computer for diving with enriched air. Course fees include materials, and 2 nitrox tanks.  Diving fees are not included. Min age 12 yrs old.

Nitrox Certification for E-Learning Students – $65  Most Popular!

For those that prefer to learn at home, prior to arrival, PADI offers the Nitrox E-Learning on-line course for those wanting to maximize vacation time!  The PADI E-Learning Nitrox course is $180.  Once you are here, you’ll take a quick review, analyze 2 nitrox tanks, and be on your way!  Course includes 2 nitrox tanks, digital photo and certification card processing.  Boat dives are not included. Min age 12 yrs old.
